In the last 15 years or so, the tourism sector has seen an economic boom, positively affecting the Nicaraguan life and economy. Since 2001, $600 million dollars have been invested in tourism, most of them coming from Nicaraguan and American investors. The country is most famous for its landscapes, flora and fauna, culture, lakes, volcanoes and and of course, its beaches. The economic beneftis which can be derived from tourism cannot be disputed; today, tourism constitues around 10% of the Nicaraguan income.
It would be difficult to find a more open, warm and gregarious people than Nicaraguans, and when you consider the hardships they have been through, it makes this friendy good humor all the more special and one of the best reasons to visit and invest in Nicaragua.
